Last week we updated you all with a bunch of changes that we had added to the site. Well, get ready for more.
As things are now, it’s basically impossible to manage. Buying all the new games that come out and playing them in a somewhat timely manner, all while balancing regular content, isn’t as simple as it may seem while the site is experiencing smooth sailing. However, time and money are becoming an ever growing issue between the two of us.
We’ve found a solution, though. One of our biggest pet peeves about the industry is the fact that it moves a bit too fast. The spotlight on most games only lasts for a few days after it releases, and so many excellent titles get looked over due to this. Those that have been following us from the beginning may remember when our info page stated that we would talk about old and new games all in one, because some games deserve a place to shine, even if it’s a few months or years after it came out. We think it’s time we honor that to show it really is the best approach to what we want to accomplish.
While you’ll still be seeing updates and reviews on newer games, expect to see less of them. We don’t need to hype things like Halo: Reach or Starcraft 2. On the flip side, games like Lost in Shadow and Bit.Trip Runner deserve all the attention they can get. We’re sick of games relying too much on the set-pieces within and ignoring the true meaning of gaming: FUN. We’ll be reviewing and talking about games from ALL systems now, because the past is just as important as the future in this industry. So, what if we feel like reviewing something like Secret of Mana? We’re going to. It’s time to really put our foot down and strive for what we wanted.
Expect the following:
- Coverage of older games as well as newer games. We’ll still cover newer games… just less often and less of them.
- More editorials on the industry. The best debates are always had from these, like topics concerning used games and game value.
- Art. Finally. No, really this time.
- Podcasts that are reflective of us. ALSO, we’ll be accepting user questions!
- Our huge E3 stuff is still happening.
- A change from WordPress. We absolutely hate WordPress, so we’ll be making a change from it.
- Random Stuff. We have so many ideas that some of them are bound to work.
Don’t get this wrong, we are NOT shutting down in the mean time. We will still continue here on WordPress in our new direction until we can finally make the full switch over.
Thank you all for being super patient. This isn’t as easy as it seemed at first, but we’re determined to stick with it
